- Assist with mitigation, planning and executing the Monett Emergency plan for disasters.
- Facilitate recovery after a disaster.
- Work with Barry and Lawrence counties in disaster preparedness.
- Assist local businesses in preparing for a disaster.
- Assist with Weapons of Mass Destruction planning for the southwest Missouri area.
- Maintain storm sirens within the city limits of Monett.
- Monitors severe weather as it moves into the southwest Missouri area.
- Maintains and updates phone tree system used to contact local businesses during severe weather.
